21 Days Hearing From God

calendarI believe that one of the most important things for you, the Christian artist, apart from salvation itself, is your ability to truly hear from God.

It’s important for any Christian to be able to hear God’s voice, but especially important for the artist or designer because you communicate through the art or design you have created. Those of you who have especially decided to yield your talent to the Lord are geared toward visually expressing the mind of Christ.

This means that the artist has now become the “mouthpiece” of God. The challenge to you is that the mouthpiece of God must remain in the presence of God in order to effectively communicate the mind of Christ through your work.

The bible tells us:
“He that dwelleth (continuously lives in rather than “visits”) in the secret place (the innermost, one-on-one place) of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1

Continuously remaining in the presence of God this way positions you to:
Receive comfort knowing that God is literally with you.
Receive protection from God.
Receive insight and instruction from God about not only your talent, but your life!

So how does “21 Days” fit in?
It takes 21 days to make a habit. No matter if it is a good thing or bad, you do something for 21 days straight and it will become a habitual part of your lifestyle.

My Challenge to You:
If you’re like me, the thing that I long to do the most is what I find the most challenging to stick to. But I’ve challenged myself to commit to a dedicated, set aside time for my Quiet Time with God. If I can stick to this for 21 days straight, I am on the road to making this a habit, a repeated part of my lifestyle.

Join me in doing this:
Schedule a regular timeframe each day to spend time alone with God.
Make sure it’s uninterrupted (no kids, no spouse, no cell phone, etc.)
Bring the Word (your bible) with you to hear from God. Bringing music is okay as well, especially to add to you praising Him for what He’s done.
Also bring a journal or even a sketchpad to record what He says to you (because He will speak!)

    Hey, Mel!

Thank you for subscribing to us.

..and I like how you put it: “allow Him to untangle” us.

  9. “He that dwelleth (continuously lives in rather than “visits”)
    Amen.
Answers to the most complexed questions of your life are solved when you sit before the Father and allow Him to untangle you.
Thank you again for your obedience, sir.
