I like design #6. It retains the brand identity of the old logo, but with a fresh clean look.

    Hey Mike-

I’m leaning toward #1 as well. I think the green is well balanced between the circle and the word “Design”, which in turn allows “makins” to flow together.

I like #4 something about the different color dot over the “i” really makes it pop for me. My difficulty with one is a matter of the shade of your color. The word design would get lost in that light a shade of green from any distance or printed small. I would also retain number 3 as a solution for one color jobs, things that might be faxed, etc. as the green would get really lost in those media.
    Just my two cents.

    # 1
The word “design” pops when its green just like the circle surrounding the letter “M”.
Take that dot on top of your “i” and make that green also.
    Its good on the eyes

Dave makes a good point about the shade of green.

I like #5. A couple of things you may want to try.
    1. Make the Makins Design larger than the “m” with the “m” centered above it.
    2. take the same #5 design and put the “m” on the left side of the text.

Lastly, i like the “gel” look, but keep in mind the different mediums you will be using your logo: print, web, embroidery, screen printing, vinyl, etc.

    Just something to think about…

Thank you all. This is some good feedback. Would number 1 look even better if the “i” had a green dot instead of black?

I like # 1 also. I’d leave the dot black. It gives a heavier look and more of a bold statement than the green one.

#1 & #3 are the best I think. I love the all black look in #3, but the splash of green in #1 is nice too. #1 clearly makes me read the word ‘design’ first which is good when you want people to immediately connect with what you do.

The space in between the letter ‘m’ and ‘a’ bugs me. Have you considered moving the ‘m’ with the circle around it to the right equalling the distance between the rest of the letters? The ‘a’ would move slightly over the circle but it would probably still look good.

Just my 2 cents. They all look nice. Great job.

Buckin’ the trend I guess. I’m a fan of numbers 5 and 6. I like the potential of the “m” in number 5 to become a mark all by itself on certain pieces. I’m sure that the “m” symbol could stand on its own from any of these, but I really like the last two because they give you more of an “image” to associate with your business. To me, that has more of a cool factor, but I could be way off base.

I would try number 6 with the type treatment of “design” from number 5. That’s my piece!

    Good work, bro :)

Wow once again thats all good feedback. I think I’m going to try Chad’s idea of having the a overlap the green circle. Also try doing number 5 & 6 with a bigger company name. Doing those with word design in all CAPS

I think that #1 is alright. For me, I loved #3, as a few others said, for when the green would be lost. It’s simple but catchy. Overall though, my favorite is #6. I am glad to see that Devin posted a similar first reaction to it as I had. It gives you great options for separating it and creating a brand as well as giving you a logo. I think that altogether #6 gives you the most versatility, style and has a real catch to it. Just my opinion. Good luck! :)
