Feel Your Work Is Rejected by the Church?-video

What do you do if you want your art to fit within the church? Watch and hear this take on a well known topic to many Christian visual artists. My friend, fellow artist, and ALFG subscriber Pastor Dave Weiss of A.M.O.K.  Arts Ministry  shares one of the best answers to this issue that many of you have wrestled with at this crossroads of art and faith:

This is a very “on time” word.
As an artist, your passion is to express/glorify yourself, but as a child of God your life is to express/glorify the Father.

I love what Dave said about humility…most individuals with talent tend to think too highly of themselves and assume that a place must be provided for that particular gift.
God hates it when the Church “stiff-arms” their own, but He hates it even more when mutiny is assumed to be the proper response.

This encourages me to trust God even more…He’s a better manager than I am and can get me better gigs.

Thank you Dave for the Word and Tony for giving it platform.

Thank you for sharing that message and story! I believe that the Christian artist at this crossroad should definitely pray about how they can use there gifts to uplift the Kingdom. In a million years I would have never thought my graphic designs and photography would be used as part of ministry but God knows his plan for us and the more I open my heart as a willing vessel the tighter my skills are become and the more doors are opening for me.
