Workshop-Day 3: Digital Painting from Concept To Completion

After creating a dismal background, I attempted another color scheme to lighten up the scene.

I used reference material not only from actual skies, but I looked at the art of the late Frank Frazetta.

I wanted to see how he created surreal backgrounds in the fantatsy work.

One of the best ways to create elements for a fantasy or scifi environment is to use references from the real world.

This is one of the photos I used as a referernce when I was creating the skyline and clouds:

Tomorrow the plan is to work on the character herslf.

    Hi Sandy!

    I use a program called Photoshop, but if you don’t have that, that’s OK!

    Here is a free resource that you can explore and practice in. If you’re like me, I learn alot by experimenting and “playing around” with art tools.
