Today we have an interview that I believe will remove any doubt about whether or not God will use your talent to do something significant.
ALFG subscriber Gimel Peterman is an example of how God can impact the lives of many through one artist or designer surrendered to Him. Many of you know that Gimel has been teaching art classes to kids in his state of Texas, but God has positioned him to also teach art to returning soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan!
Take a listen and be blown away. This has been recorded as a audio interview for your convenience.

This is so timely. Thank you kindly for the encouragement!
Hey Sudsy, the best advice I would give concerning you getting serious about art is…don’t take it seriously…play with it.
The best things that I have encountered with this talent was absolutely by accident or by just messing around.
There is this saying in the sport of boxing, “Let your hands go!”
If it has been placed in you, then don’t do it…just be it.
My greatest obstacle in creating anything was that I took it too seriously and I would always crumble under the law of perfection or doing a work for the Lord or building the kingdom.
Its like…God gives us a toy to play with (for our enjoyment according to His goodness) and we ask Him how much fun should we have with it?
Sudsy, just have fun and see what comes out.
Play, my friend…enjoy it, discover it, chew on it, challenge it, shape it and when God is ready…He’ll tap the world on the shoulder and say, “Look at my child enjoy Me through the gift that I have given him/her.”
Create for your Father and leave the rest up to Him.
Hello,
A brother from the IAVA – COV pointed me here…
I love this idea; maybe I should use it on myself now that I’m a life member DAV. I do allot on the net as a volunteer Chaplain now, and puts around with photo bucket often.
How to get more serious in art is the question for me now?
Thanks Sudsy…
Thanks Chris!
Good to hear from you again!
Man this is the most inspiring testimony I have heard in a long time. Brother Gimel, you are so blessed, and I thank God for you and your testimony. It gives me hope that one day I too will be used in a mighty way. I am going through the fire now, but will be coming out pure gold.
Be blessed in Christ
Christopher
p.s. Thank you again Tony for putting this together. I pray that you receive the desires of your heart that are inline with God’s word and will for your life.
Thank you, Sudsy for speading the word!
God is truly using our brother Gimel, and the honor was mine to have him tell how God is using his talent to bless the lives of the soldiers.
I’ve always said, our talent is not just for us, but for others.
GREAT INTERVIEW!
Being an Operation Iraqi Freedom Vet, and a cartoonist (with a lot of cartoons drawn during that period of my life) and a Believer, this just confirms my suspicion that my ability to return to normal life was greatly assisted primarily by my Faith, may Family, and my Artwork.
I’ve posted this to my Facebook, and since I’m a member of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America’s Community of Veterans Ning group, I’ll post it there also. I’ve started and joined a few groups of other Veteran Artists from there, and this will go a long way to ministering to them.
Tell Gimel thank you so much for everything he is doing for my brother and sister veterans down there at Ft. Hood, and keep up the good work!
