How to Be Creative Everyday, Even From the Road (Audio)

Today’s post is more like a workshop within a workshop.

The main post as the title states is an example of how to maximize your downtime to help you do something creative everyday.

I recently went on a road trip for business. I always download great podcasts and learn quite a but this time I felt compelled to use part of the two and a half hour drive to record an actual podcast myself using my mini voice recorder.

I ended up recording a mini workshop that is an audio sequel of an earlier teaching titled “Your Artistic Talent as a Weapon”.

This time I had a little fun with it, so I hope you’ll find it both informative and entertaining!

Now, before you move on to listen to the audio lesson, here are the three things to remember in this lesson on how to maximize your downtime to help you do something creative everyday:

1. Look for opportunities for downtime in your day or week (like my road trip).

2. Prepare yourself by having simple tools that will help you make the most of your down time: A mini journal or mini sketchbook, an audio recorder or even a smart phone).

3. Take time after the downtime to explore how to make the most of what you did during the downtime: Refining sketches you did standing in line or fleshing out ideas you jotted down or even recorded.

And now…the Podcast! As always with our podcasts:

Take us with you in your car, at home, or anywhere:

-Take us to the gym!
-Take us to your studio!
-Take us on the highway!

    Deborah-

That sounds great! We’d love to see some of the work that God inspires you with during your travels!

Your comment made me think of sketches I did “at 30,000 feet” while traveling by air also:

Thanks for the info. We travel every 6 months from Australia to the states. So to say the least my artwork on the road has been challenging. After I have my basic drawings I take photos and downsize them so there travel-able. Its been a blessing because it gives me time to work out colours that I might like and seeing things that I might correct. This next trip back I’m getting a canvas print done of my work so it can roll up in my suitcase. God Bless

  8. Thanks, Christopher!

    Will do!

  9. Tony,
