Your Talent as a Weapon?

Recently I circulated this image on Social Media to see what others thought the message was behind it.
And what was that message behind this image?

Basically I wanted to express how our talent is POWERFUL…like a nuclear reactor!

When used for good, it can light up an entire city!

…but when misused, that nuclear reactor can destroy that same city.

And why would our talent be so powerful? Because the ability to create art is a gift directly from God, and anything from God has power.

Why do you think the enemy tries to get a hold on musicians, writers, designers, etc?

Creatives are the thought influencers. And he who controls the Creatives of a society control the mind of that society.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

1. Art, music, design, etc. evokes emotions, memories, concepts and THOUGHTS.

2. THOUGHTS lead to ACTIONS

3. ACTIONS repeated, lead to HABITS (some good, some bad)

4. HABITS repeated lead to LIFESTYLE

And thus is the reason why the enemy wants to either own or stop your creativity…so that he can influence you to influence others for his purpose, or keep you from impacting the lives of others with your creative talent for the good.

Share your thoughts on this concept. Am I off? Is this over thinking things?

4 Thoughts on “Your Talent as a Weapon?

  1. I think you are RIGHT ON with this!
“Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve.”

Just like words, ART most certainly has power. May we make wise choices in how we ‘present’ ourselves for we do indeed have influence!

Thanks for your thought provoking, encouraging, and inspiring messages- much welcomed and appreciated!

  2. This makes me think of all the” music/art/ideas lead to killing ” talk that’s been flying around more since the shootings this past December. People are so quick to say that things like violent films and art don’t have anything to do with violence in real life but honestly we all know it does. When musical artists, for example, are told that their music inspired someone to do something good then then musical artist is all gushing and thankful. But when they hear that someone does something bad and it was inspired by that music then the artists separate themselves and their work from that person’s actions very quickly. How is it different? It’s not. The music, or art, inspired someone to do something good or bad. Art and music inspire people to do all kinds of things. We know art and music inspire and it affects people differently. Some just take it further and darker than others.

So, yes, art is a weapon, a spiritual one, that can be used for good and bad. I agree with what you said Tony. I hope that people take responsibility for how their work affects people once it’s in the public arena.
