Here’s what I mean:
You are creative. You have an incredible ability to see the unseen, to create images in your mind that give life to things we can’t see.
The dark side of that creative ability is that you can imagine the worst. You have the ability to see the unseen, to create images in your mind that give life to things we can’t see.
That’s called “worry”.
Playing back something that was said (or was never said)…over and over.
Imagining the worse about what can go wrong or what someone will do or say…over and over.
It’s a strategic tactic that the enemy uses especially against God’s creative people.
So, how do you protect your mind and imagination against this tactic?
Instead of using your imagination to playback negative thoughts, feelings and/or concerns, replace those thoughts with thoughts about Jesus and the plan that He has for your life. Learn those promises, practice writing them. Memorize them. That way your imagination will create positive things rather than things to worry about.
The following scriptures say it all:
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” -Joshua 1:8
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers…” Psalm 1: 2-3
