I like to go a step further to also remind myself that the focus of Christmas is not ONLY that “Baby Jesus” was born, but that His birth had a purpose and that was to die and rise again to save us.

To send that message home, some time ago I created an interactive digital painting called SAVIOR where you are able to see the iconography within the painting by mousing over certain elements and seeing what they mean.

The method of receiving the answer is easy, following through and doing it is what I’ve always found to be the challenge: Your one-on-one quiet time alone with God is the key to hearing His voice:

The Enemy desires to keep you too busy to take time out to spend quietly in the presence of the Lord.

This is an age old strategic tactic: Cut off communication and the supply chain from “Head Quarters” and you have no strategic direction and no resources.

Here are a few things every artist and designer needs to remember in order to counter this attack:

• God is as real as your prayer life.
• Appointed time alone with God creates the environment for divine direction.
• Setting aside one-on-one time with God is a challenge because of its potential.
• Maintaining appointed time alone with God has to be worked at.

I’m bringing back a virtual art show that KreativeKingdom.org hosted a few years ago. It’s called “Angels Among Us” and it showcases the creative talents of subscribers of “Art Lessons from God” as well as other artists from around the U.S. and the world.

Artists submit their illustrated version of angels and we showcase it on the site. The site also serves a dual role of sharing what we call “The Truth About Angels”, telling the audience what the Bible says about angels (and what it doesn’t).

12 artists will have their work selected to appear in a 2009 “Angels Among Us” Calendar.
